Longevity is Success Our Timeline: 1984 - Micro Decisions is founded by Dale Agonis* as a part-time engineering consulting firm specializing in microprocessor based control products. The name Micro Decisions comes from the concept of "micro" processor based products making intelligent "decisions" to control a machine or process. 1985 - Micro Decisions incorporates and establishes it's home in Valparaiso, Indiana. 1990 - Micro Decisions becomes a full-time business. 1991 - In-house electronic assembly capabilities are added to manufacture the products being designed by Micro Decisions. 1992 - Surface mount capabilities are added to Micro Decisions' in-house manufacturing. Contract manufacturing is now offered as an additional service. 1996 - Micro Decisions introduces a line of Industrial Computers. Micro Decisions experiences substantial growth and recognition as an industrial computer provider. Many well-recognized companies begin relying on the expertise of Micro Decisions to provide their industrial computer solutions. 1999 - Micro Decisions introduces it's own stand-alone industrial computer. This computer is designed and manufactured to fit a particular niche not yet supported in the industrial computer market. 2002 - Micro Decisions becomes the North American sales channel of HMI products manufactured by Hitech Electronics Inc. 2004 - Micro Decisions selects Entertron Industries to provide programmable industrial control products for use in Micro Decisions' control solutions. The Entertron Industries product provides a quick-to-market control solution for Micro Decisions' OEM customers. 2005 - Micro Decisions becomes a value-added distributor for Beijer Electronics Inc. Beijer Electronics manufacturers HMI products and also provides those formerly marketed under Hitech Electronics Inc. 2007 - Micro Decisions introduces products from ControlByWeb. ControlByWeb provides remote I/O products controlled over the internet. . Doing whatever it takes At Micro Decisions we definitely put the customer first. To that extent, we do whatever it takes to insure your projects are successful. We recently received extraordinary recognition because of this philosophy, one of our customers awarded us their "Vendor of the Year Award". Below is that award and an excerpt taken from a letter that accompanied it.
*Dale Agonis, President and CEO In 1981, Dale Agonis got his formal electronics education from Valparaiso Technical Institute. At that time, the Valparaiso Technical Institute was among the top ten electronics schools in the world. Being in the top of his class, Dale Agonis found himself in high demand even before his graduation. This enabled him to select his career path, placing himself in positions that would help fulfill his entrepreneurial goal of establishing an electronics engineering company. Within 9 years of graduation, he had achieved this goal. Dale Agonis continues to be the driving force behind Micro Decisions today. His ability to visualize the needs of the customer and provide a solution has insured successful projects over-and-over again. In addition to Micro Decisions, Dale Agonis has also been active in the eye care and health care industries. He is part owner of Retsan Corporation, a company dedicated to improving health care through eye care. For Retsan, Dale Agonis has a patented device he developed that can monitor a person's health status. In conjunction with Retsan, Dale Agonis served on the Board of Directors for The National Eye Research Foundation. This foundation is dedicated to educating eye care professionals about innovations and enhancements within their industrial. Dale Agonis has been the speaker at several of the foundations gatherings. | |||
